5th Wheel/Gooseneck Towing | 37,000 pounds | 34,600 pounds |

The 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel engine provides the Ford F-450 with its towing power. It cranks out 475 horsepower and a whopping 1,050 lb-ft of torque. It's partnered up with the TorqShift® 10-speed SelectShift Automatic® transmission with Selectable Drive Modes, which helps it achieve its 24,200-pound conventional towing capacity. It can also pull 37,000 pounds if you're using a gooseneck or 5th-wheel trailer.
If you're planning on towing on tough terrain, you can opt for the Electronic Shift-On-the-Fly 4-Wheel-Drive System. It will help you get your haul up mountain roads and across rough jobsites. Plus, you'll still be able to tow 24,200 pounds of conventional trailer weight, and 32,600 pounds with a gooseneck or 5th-wheel trailer.
Innovative Towing Technologies in the F-450
You may have heard the old cliché: Work smarter, not harder. Well, the Ford F-450 does both. It comes with an array of smart technologies to complement its towing capacity. First, there's the Trailer Sway Control. When this standard feature detects a shift in trailer weight, it can brake individual wheels and adjust engine output to keep you in control.
The available Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System will expand your field of view while hitching or parking your trailer. It uses several camera views to create a 360-degree or 180-degree view of your truck. There's also a view from the stop lamp, which lets you see into your truck bed while out on the road.

There's also the Pro Trailer Backup Assistâ„¢. This available feature will make you a parking pro in a matter of moments. Simply turn the dial in the direction you want the trailer to go, and watch as it follows suit.
Confidence-Inspiring Safety Features
To help you be even more confident at the helm of your heavy-duty Ford F-450, it also comes with several safety and driver-assistive features to help you whether you're towing a trailer or not.
Two helpful features are the Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and the Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support. This available technology will alert you if it detects an imminent collision. If you don't react in time, it will activate the brakes to lessen the severity of the collision-or possibly avoid it altogether.
Finally, there's the BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Trailer Coverage. By monitoring the blind spots of both your truck and your trailer, it helps you merge and change lanes with confidence. When paired with the available Lane-Keeping Alert, you'll have even more control.
