Efficient and Fun Driving

When you decide you want to get a 2020 Escape Hybrid, there are two options you have when it comes to your power source. You can get the 2.5L I-4 Atkinson-Cycle powertrain or a Plug-In 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-Cycle I-4 engine.

Although the numbers on fuel economy aren't released yet, we expect both powertrains to give you a long range of miles you can drive on each tank of gas. The full hybrid targets to get an EPA-estimated range of more than 550 miles while the plug-in targets an EPA-estimated pure-electric range of over 30 miles.

They also each offer sporty driving. The full hybrid engine produces 198 horsepower while the plug-in hybrid engine can deliver up to 209 horsepower. They each also come paired with the smooth acceleration of the electronic continuously variable transmission.

With the plug-in powertrain, you'll have two options when it comes to charging the battery. With its 110-volt Level 1 charger, the battery can be fully powered within 10 to 11 hours. Even faster charging is had when using the 240-volt Level 2 charger. This will be able to fully power the battery in about 3.5 hours.

Still Plenty of Room for Cargo

With the strategic placement and smaller design of the battery, the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid will also give you space to transport supplies in the back of your vehicle. If both rows are occupied, there will be up to 34.4 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the second row.

When you need to carry larger items in your Escape Hybrid, the second-row seats can be folded down to give you more use of the space inside for cargo. Doing this can give you a maximum cargo capacity of 60.8 cubic feet in the Ford Escape Hybrid.

Safety First

A high priority in the 2020 Escape Hybrid, just like all Ford models, is yours and your passengers' safety. This is why there's a range of standard safety features in this SUV, including the driver-assistive features of Ford Co-Pilot360™.

With this, you'll get the Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, which can help you back out of parking spots and change lanes with confidence. Also a part of Ford Co-Pilot360™ is Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking. This can alert you when you're getting too close to a car or pedestrian in front of you and can even help you brake quickly.
