Ford Focus Engine Specs
Buckle in, because we have a lot of engine options to discuss here. The 2018 Ford Focus provides four engine options, each offering a unique benefit.
If you want an engine with a great balance of power and efficiency, the standard 2.0L I-4 engine is a solid choice. It generates 160 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque.
It comes with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, but a 6-speed automatic transmission, with or without SelectShift®, is also available. This engine will get you an EPA-estimated 26 MPG city and 38 MPG highway fuel economy.
For someone who's looking to maximize efficiency, the 1.0L EcoBoost® I-3 engine is a good pick. It gets an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 30 MPG city and 40 MPG highway. It comes with automatic start/stop, which turns off your engine during long pauses in traffic or at stop lights and generates 123 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque.
For a sportier option, either the 2.0L EcoBoost® I-4 or 2.3L EcoBoost® I-4 will get you a lot of power, generating 252 horsepower and 350 horsepower, respectively, and 270 lb-ft and 350 lb-ft of torque, respectively. They both operate with a manual transmission, only.
Infotainment Systems
If you like to crank some tunes and stay connected from wherever you are, then you'll love the standard SYNC® Voice Recognition Communications and Entertainment System. This system includes Bluetooth® smartphone connectivity for hands-free calling, texting, and music streaming.
If you want full smartphone connectivity, you can upgrade to the available SYNC® 3 system, which includes an 8-inch screen, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.
